Flashing a motherboard BIOS update expecting a direct jump in frame rate.
The honest verdict
Graded placebo. A BIOS update almost never changes raw FPS on its own — it is firmware for the board, not a performance switch. What it CAN do is real but indirect: on AMD especially, a newer BIOS (AGESA) can unlock better, more stable memory support, so a RAM kit that would not run its rated speed before now can — and faster, stable memory genuinely helps frames. …
