What it means
Old games shipped with secret button sequences — the Konami code (up up down down left right left right B A), DOOM's IDDQD — that flipped on god mode or skipped levels. Developers left them in on purpose: a wink to anyone paying attention.

There is no equivalent for frame rate. No registry string, no console command, no "secret tweak" makes a GPU draw frames the silicon can't draw — anyone selling you an "FPS cheat code" is selling exactly the kind of myth this library exists to call out. Real frames come from real hardware, honest settings, and measuring whether a change actually did anything. Compy has no cheats. Well. Almost.
The Compy Blackbook holds 174 graded entries like this one, judged against your hardware — and every change it does make is reversible, with the receipt to prove it.
