What it does
Utilities that 'free' RAM by purging Windows' standby list or trimming process memory on a timer.
The honest verdict
Free RAM is wasted RAM: the standby list IS your file cache, and purging it throws away data Windows would have reused instantly — the next read comes from disk instead. The 2018-era standby-list stutter these tools were built around is something modern Windows memory management handles for most rigs now; today the falling 'in use' number mostly just looks satisfying while cold loads get slower.
How Compy treats it
Compy won't recommend it. If you're curious anyway: change one thing at a time, measure it on your own rig, and revert unless it's clearly better — that loop is exactly what Compy is built around.
The Compy Blackbook holds 191 graded entries like this one, judged against your hardware — and every change it does make is reversible, with the receipt to prove it.
