The honest verdict
Free RAM is wasted RAM: the standby list IS your file cache, and purging it throws away data Windows would have reused instantly — the next read comes from disk instead. The 2018-era standby-list stutter bug these tools were built around was fixed in Windows itself years ago. Today the falling 'in use' number just looks satisfying while cold loads get slower.
